Dr Chris Milne - Sport & Exercise Medicine Doctor

Chris graduated from Dundee University Medical School in 2003. After completing initial training in Glasgow he worked in New Zealand before undertaking training in Emergency Medicine.

As Sports Medicine became a recognised medical specialty, Chris decided to use his experience and love of sport to combine this career path. He completed GP training in 2011 prior to undertaking his Sports Medicine MSc at Glasgow University. He then successfully completed his post-graduate exams to gain Membership of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Before working full-time in Sport & Exercise Medicine, Chris worked in General Practice, combining this with a variety of roles. He has previously assisted the clinic with Football Performance Schools, medical screenings and health assessments. He has also worked with Support in Sport mental Health service, and taught regularly on the Glasgow Sports Medicine MSc, helping to develop much of the online learning course. He is an accredited anti-doping educator and delivered teaching sessions to clubs around the country

Chris has been involved with football for the past 13 years at a club level, initially with Falkirk FC before most recently being 1st Team doctor at Rangers FC where he was previously Head of Academy Medicine.

Over a number of years Chris has been involved with Scotland national football squads from U15-U21 age groups, providing medical cover for training and match events. He also provides pitch-side care as emergency doctor at matches at Hampden and further afield and has also been involved with Commonwealth Games and most recently the World Indoor Athletics Championships when held in Glasgow.

Chris will provide input into the clinic for MSK, medical and performance related issues using a variety of diagnostic options and holds qualifications in ultrasound and injection therapy.
