Gordon McFarlane
Sports Massage Therapist
After changing career paths in 2015 from engineering, Gordon completed a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science before pursuing a Masters by Research (MRes) degree looking into the influence of hamstring force production and maturity status on football-specific motor performance in elite youth football players.
During this time, he worked as a Sport Scientist with Motherwell FC and Kilmarnock FC academies, and most recently as the first team Sport Scientist at Queen’s Park FC in a season during which they gained promotion to League 1!
Gordon decided to move into the area of Sports Massage and Rehabilitation, where he combines his love of sport with helping people recover from injury. Originally working as an
Orthotics Consultant and Sports Massage Therapist at an established private clinic in Aberdeenshire for a year and a similar clinic in Stewarton, Ayrshire for the past two years.
Gordon also currently works with Stenhousemuir FC as sport scientist/ massage therapist, covering matches and training.
In his free time Gordon enjoys running and competing in functional fitness events like Hyrox, going to the gym and playing / watching football. More recently, he has also found a new love for walking and exploring the country!
